Switch was created by established UEFA B qualified football coach, Danny Hibbert.
For 10 years, Danny coached at Queen's Park Rangers Football Club as a Football in the Community Officer, Head of Sports Development and as an Academy School of Excellence Coach. In 2002, Danny then went on to create his own football club, Shepherd's Bush United FC, followed by his own holiday programme, The Whole Picture, who provide sports and creative arts for children around White City. Danny came up with the concept of Switch whilst watching the 2012 London Olympics. He wanted to create a fun, new, energetic game which combined multi co-ordination skills, included elements of different sports, promoted
teamwork and could be played by the whole community (parents included!) at The Whole Picture holiday programmes as well as being a good warm up sport for his players at Shepherd's Bush United FC. Danny takes a very hands on approach to his role and continues to coach and develop Switch so that it can be played by as wide an audience as possible.
Lucy became the Co Director for Switch Sports in 2015 after working for The Whole Picture as the art co-ordinator and for Shepherd's Bush United FC as an Assistant Coach. Lucy has a background in art, sport and working with children. From 2002 - 2005 she did 1-1 home teaching, she then went on to study at the University of Westminster where she got a
BA (Hons) degree in Illustration. She worked as a Freelance Illustrator before getting her HLTA status and FA Level 1 Coaching badge. She then ran a Digital Arts Club, Girls Football Clubs and Switch club at various schools. Since then, she has done a PGCE and she is now a qualified class teacher at St Mark's Primary School. Lucy helps Danny in the development and coaching of Switch and does the majority of the design work. She also plays for Haringey Borough Women's Football Club and coaches a girl's team in West London every Saturday.
